Coffee Filter Watercolor Hearts

Coffee filter watercolor heartsIf you paint and cut out coffee filters, you just might get some really pretty Valentine cards.

My students let them sit on plastic canvas mesh while painting and drying, so sometimes the grid bleed through, which was kinda cool too. Happy almost Valentine’s Day everyone!

MATERIALS
• White round coffee filters
• Old steam iron
• Liquid watercolor paint
• Plastic canvas
• Baseball card sleeve

DIRECTIONS
1. Press large coffee filters flat with an old steam iron.
2. Cut the circles into 2.5″ x 3.5″ rectangles, also known as art trading card size.
3. Students place the rectangles on a sheet of plastic canvas mesh, paint with liquid watercolors.
4. After the cards are dry, slip them into the baseball card sleeve to make a pretty arrangement.
