An old supply of coffee filters has led to some crayon-resist watercolor experiments. I’ll be posting more about the results later, but meanwhile I’ve found that the plates students paint on make a big difference. Looking for some cool textured wrinkles like the one on the left? Use plastic. Prefer flat color so your crayon rubbings can stand out? Use paper. In either case, I highly recommend liquid watercolor paints as these intense colors just cannot be found in tablets in trays.
