Black Chalk Paper

Chalk and glue art projectHere is how I make my cover art for a new paper from Strathmore.

It’s very thick and black, perfect for those projects that always made construction paper flop and wrinkle. I’m not sure which art stores carry it, but it’s available at good old Amazon right now (see my link below).

Follow the steps below to see just how I made this art. Once the design was chosen, it was easy!

MATERIALS
• Black Chalk paper
• White glue
• Chalk pastels

DIRECTIONS

1. Draw design in pencil, trace with white glue.

2. Glue will dry clear. Color areas with chalk pastel.

3. Add highlights with lighter colors and shadows with darker.

Thank you, Kathy. I’d been looking at Michael’s, A.C. Moore, and Joann’s Fabric, and none of them have it. I’m always planning too late to have to order it, but I will go ahead and do so now! Thanks again!
