Holiday Matchbox Art

Holiday Matchbox ArtMy Holiday Matchbox Art kids did a great job today, as they experimented with adding mini pom poms to their drawings. These two amazing 2nd graders, Rebecca and Violet, made them with both Hanukkah and Christmas in mind. Follow the link below to download the box templates and instructions.

MATERIALS
• White card stock paper
• Glue stick
• Scotch tape
• Mini pom poms
Stabilo markers

DIRECTIONS
PREP: Print a box, sleeve and tray for each student.
I folded the boxes for each as I had many too young for this origami step.
1. Students drew their house on the flattened sleeve in pencil, and then colored with markers.
2. The trays, or inserts were drawn and colored next.
3. Mini pom poms were glued to such holiday items as stockings, candles, and stuffed animals.
4. The box is assembled with a folded insert, and folded and taped sleeve.
