Pasta Skeleton

pasta+skeleton-576x1024I’ve tweaked this project over the years, and this is still my favorite version.

1. To make a sturdy pallet, the students arrange 20 popsicle sticks horizontally and secure them with 4 sticks glued vertically to the back.
2. A variety of pasta shapes are needed. I started by briefing the students with a simple sketch illustrating the proportions and the placement of shoulders, hips and joints. Using white glue, students attach the head, spine, ribs and hips. The shoulders, arms, legs, hands and feet are added and let to dry until the glue turns clear.
