For some quick inspiration, here are links to a few of my most popular Thanksgiving drawing ideas:
When the fall season rolls around every year, one of the best ways to celebrate the all the colorful changes is to draw them. Nature is great at serving up lots of inspiration, what with acorns, leaves, fall trees, and plants, just to name a few.
Thanksgiving drawing projects are always fun too. Add in the pumpkins and pies, and pumpkin pies and you have a whole lot of yummy drawings!
As a former classroom art teacher, I spent years watching students go through the process of learning how to draw. In time, it became clear that many were often unsure about how to start or how to continue, especially when they felt stuck. Direct draw instructions on the front board did work for a little while, but had limitations. Some students always wanted to go faster, and some slower. It kept the whole process feeling a bit chaotic.
The biggest benefit about getting the process down on paper was that every one could work finally work independently. Tutorials showing each step suddenly turned a noisy process into a very quiet and happy classroom! The more tutorials I made, the more I continually found them to be helpful. Students could build their confidence, learn the value in following directions, and hopefully start a lifetime love of drawing.
