Model Magic Rose

A third grader blew me away with her skill in making these Model Magic roses.

Model Magic rose

I showed students how to simply make and wrap rose petals, but she ran with the idea and added colorful stamens and beautifully detailed leaves. Thank you Erin for inspiring all of us!

DIRECTIONS
1. Students use red Model Magic to make a flat small circle that is roughly the size of a quarter, and wrap it around the end of the stick to kind of look like a bud. They made more flat edged circles and wrapped them around the bud, pressing together only at the base. Repeat 4 or 5 times until the flower looks full.

2. Mix together equal yellow and blue Model Magic to make green. Make oval shapes and press to the bottom of the flower.
3. Repeat to make a bouquet and place all the sticks in a baby food jar.
