My students have been making these Witch Hat Scratch Art images all week. And as I mentioned before, I’ve learned that as long as they make two thick layers of color before scratching away at the surface, the outcome can’t help but be rich and colorful. I can’t tell you how messed up my floor is right now, as noted by my custodian, but I say it’s all worth it. I only need to hear a few “this is a fun project!” to make it all worthwhile.
P.S. My students used Portfolio Oil Pastels. They are soft and squishy and will make a mess, but the color just can’t be beat.
