Description
Collaborative art projects in a classroom setting always sound like a wonderful idea, but are easier said than done. They often involve long hours of prep work, extra supplies, and lots of supervision. Well, here’s another option for busy teachers.
Now it’s easy to have smaller groups of students work on festive holiday coloring projects, follow a coloring guide and then assemble the pages together themselves. My Mini Murals that are made up of six to ten pages are easy to figure out (even if you totally ignore the page numbers on them) and when complete can be glued down to any standard butcher paper. Another option is to glue the uncolored pages to butcher paper yourself, and then have the students color the mural afterwards.
Either way, students will still need to collaborate with others on a color plan, share supplies, and will no doubt be excited to show off their giant art when complete.
Each of the eight fun templates seen above is made with a large line art drawing that is spread out over several pages. All you have to do is print, trim to the edge of the drawing, color, and tape or mount the art back together. Coloring guides are included, along with a numbering system for easy assembly.
