Description

the quilts of gee's bend

The women of Gee’s Bend live in a small, remote, black community in Alabama and have created hundreds of quilt masterpieces.

This community also has a pretty fascinating connection to Dr. Martin Luther King. You can read the book “Belle, the Last Mule at Gee’s Bend” to find out more.

I created this quilt mural based on the look of one of their famous quilts, wobbly shapes and all. Students could color randomly, or if a more cohesive palette is desired, a palette could be chosen first.

Please note that a purchase of this mural will give you this art in two sizes, both a 25-page PDF and a 36-page one. Now classes of all sizes can choose which one is right for them for just one price.
