How to Draw a Paw Print for a Dog & Cat: Easy Step-by-Step Art Lesson for Kids
Here you’ll find an easy step-by-step tutorial for how to draw a paw print for a dog and cat.
Drawing of a Paw Print
When students learn how to draw a paw print, they will get a chance to think more about shapes that make up a dog or cat’s foot. Much like our toes are connected to our feet, they still curve and so they all make some separate little toe shapes, when leaving an impression or mark somewhere.
The good thing is that a cat print is very similar to a dog print, so once you know how to draw one, it’s easy to modify and draw the other. It turns out that the biggest difference is that most cat toes make round little toe shapes, while dogs are more oval.
Learning about paw prints might be a good way to learn more about some of our favorite animals – or they could make a fun decorations too. The next time you want to have your pet “sign” their name on something, you can just go ahead and do it with your drawing of their paw print!
