Easy How to Draw like Beatrix Potter and Beatrix Potter Coloring Page
Below you’ll find an easy step-by-step tutorial for how to draw like Beatrix Potter and a Beatrix Potter Coloring Page. She was was an English writer, illustrator, scientist, and conservationist.
Drawing of Peter Rabbit
This tutorial was made for fans of Peter Rabbit, and who would like to learn how to draw like Beatrix Potter. She was a skilled painter, but her look of creating very cute and soft looking animals in human clothing, can be accomplished with pencil crayons too.
Students who are new to drawing, can use some regular pencil crayons and practice their shading, but those that want to get a softer palette, like the sample shown above, might want to try out some of the higher-quality pencil crayon sets that are available, to get more color choices. There’s nothing like finding that perfect shade of brown, to make a drawing have some sophistication to it.
Another tip for getting a softer look? Use an ultra-fine tip black marker for tracing the pencil drawing. Or just leave the original pencil drawing alone too. Either way, this is one project where a bold black line is not called for. Beatrix’s artwork has a lovely soft quality to it, and imitating it is a fun way to experiment with our drawing style too!
Beatrix Potter remains one of the world’s best-selling and best-loved children’s authors. She wrote and illustrated 28 books, including her 23 Tales which have sold more than 250 million copies worldwide.
