How to Draw a Sunflower for Kids: Easy Directed Drawing Lesson
Below you’ll find an easy step-by-step tutorial for how to draw a Sunflower and a Sunflower Coloring Page. Their yellow color always look amazing against a blue sky.
Sunflower Drawing
Learning how to draw a sunflower doesn’t mean that you have to have just one centered in the middle of the paper, all by itself. That doesn’t make for a very exciting composition. You might want to consider Vincent Van Gogh, who I think made about 17 different versions of his sunflower paintings, all with different arrangements. Instead of arranging them in a vase though, students can experiment with their own layout by balancing a simple large, medium and small one. And if some of them are so large that they go off the page a bit, that makes things look even a little more lifelike too!

Materials to draw a Sunflower
- Drawing Paper. This is the good stuff you can buy in bulk for a good price.
- Pencils. I like how this brand always makes nice dark lines.
- Black Marker. A permanent marker will give you a dark black color.
- Crayons. The larger packs are nice for more color choices.
- Note: All of the above are Amazon affiliate links.
