Drawings of braids, five different ways, made with the help of a stpe by step tutorial.

Now students that would like to learn how to draw a braid, have some help – and choices – in how to do so. There is more than one way and each creates a little bit of a different look.

You can start with a center zig zag line, or wavy line, or outside curves. If it’s the first time for drawing this kind of hair treatment, I recommend students choose which looks easiest for them to do, and then give it a try.

To see examples of how a braid might look on an actual person, scroll down to see the five examples of women drawings on my site that do have braids. The good news is that they follow a pattern, so once young artists see that, drawing a braid gets a whole lot easier to do.
