Emu Drawing

Emus are one of the largest birds in the world, and they come from Australia. Even though they’re tall, emus can’t fly—so they use their long, strong legs to run fast instead. They also have soft, shaggy-looking feathers and big, curious eyes that help them see what’s going on around them. If you’ve ever seen a picture of an emu, you probably noticed that their face has a lot of personality!
In this drawing tutorial, you’ll learn how to draw an emu face step by step. We focus mostly on the head so you can really capture those amazing eyes. Start by following the directions to make the basic shape of the face, then add zigzag lines around the edges to create that fuzzy feather look. When it’s time to color, try layering two crayon colors (one a little darker, one a little lighter). That simple trick adds extra texture and makes your emu look more realistic—and a little extra adorable too!
