Not sure what a rubric is?

It’s simply a set of scoring guidelines that helps make evaluating student work more consistent. When the criteria are clearly explained, different teachers looking at the same drawing should be able to arrive at a similar score or grade.

This rubric is a little different, though. It was created especially for elementary students to use as a self-evaluation tool.

The language is simple and easy to understand, so students can pause, think about the effort they put into their artwork, and decide what they might like to try differently next time.

It’s a helpful way to encourage reflection without making the process feel too complicated or overly formal.
