Transformer Drawing

Part of the fascination with Transformers is that they DO have so many parts to them, so learning how to draw Optimus Prime, one of the most famous of the Transformer characters, needs to be a study in how to get as many details in as possible. At the same time though, I’m sure there are many Transformer fans that are still in elementary school, and need something that is not way beyond their abilities either.

This Optimus Prime tutorial hopefully lands in the middle, with all the panels and attachments that make him look so cool, but not in any complicated poses. This step by step lesson shows what he could look like with a straight point of view, so all his shapes are symmetrical and easier to see.
