The secret to making a sea turtle drawing for kids look cute? Add extra large eyes. Works every time, and is actually easier to draw too. See below for a PDF tutorial you can download.
I like how this turtle is seen just from the side, so you can concentrate on his simple profile. It also gives you a chance to show that he has flippers instead of the walking type of turtle legs, an important distinction.

- Print a tutorial for each student. Guide lines are added to a sheet of paper before the drawing is started. Folding the paper in half both ways will do the trick, or you can print them lightly with a printer too.
- Students follow the tutorial to draw the turtle.
- Trace the drawing with a black Sharpie marker. Erase the extra pencil lines when the drawing is complete.
- Color the drawing carefully with crayons, and press well to make the colors dark.
